This is the first time I've submitted a block for consideration, and I could not be more excited to have Dashing Geese included in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks volume 9. Here it is, block #883 on page 67 :o)
Dashing Geese found in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks vol. 9 |
Dashing Geese is a combination block containing a small bit of paper piecing for the geese units and regular piecing for block construction. You can read a bit about what inspired me to try designing a block here.
I had so much fun coming up with a design. To begin the process I thought about what kind of quilt block I am drawn to...often these are traditional blocks with a history to tell. I selected the churn dash. Next, I considered what I could do to make this block my own. The churn dash has great possibilities when you consider the "real estate" available in the rectangular areas of the block. Mulling over the options I decided to fill the rectangles with flying geese.
Due to the dimensions of a churn dash I could not use the 1:2 ratio of traditional flying geese. Instead, I drafted a paper piecing template to create the geese unit. I don't have special software and just used the Drawing toolbar of MicroSoft Word to work out the specifics.
Depending on the fabric chosen Dashing Geese can look contemporary or traditional. Fabric placement also impacts how the block looks. Here are a few different "looks" for Dashing Geese:
Quiltmaker's invited block designers to make and submit a quilt featuring their block for inclusion in the Designer Gallery section of the magazine. Quilts submitted will also be on display in the Golden, Colorado office gallery for the summer! So fun :o)
Dashing Geese wall hanging. Photographed by Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks. |
For this Dashing Geese mini quilt I used my all-time favorite fabric, Rouenneries by French General. In each block I changed up the fabric placement or colors to create a sampler-style quilt.

oh how fun is this?! I adore your block Debbie and love its name! Perfect! Congrats on your inclusion in the magazine. Your 'sample quilt' is adorable. And btw, I follow via bloglovin' and Instagram...
ReplyDeleteI love your take on the churn dash block. Adding the flying geese was pure genius. I follow you on Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteMost often I am a traditional quilter, but I try to make modern quilts as well.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog by email.
I can go either way these days. I like the Modern look. I follow you on BL.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, Congratulations for your publication. Your block is great and I enjoyed seeing the various colour placement option on your mini. I could see myself making one of those in solids or with some Bonnie and Camille. I follow you on Bloglovin and you are on my list of favourite blogs on my own blog. To think that I "knew" (blog-wise) you from your first post... Enjoy the hype!
ReplyDeleteYour block is fantastic! I am mostly traditional with some contemporary influences, best of both worlds! Congrats on being in the magazine! I follow you on Bloglovin. carolann427@aol.com
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first! Love your update of a traditional block. I'm a contemporary traditionalist quilter - I enjoy it all. I'm a new follower with Bloglovin'. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool block! I lean more toward contemporary/modern quilting but even things called modern seem to use a lot of traditional blocks, so there is plenty of overlap. I do love bright, modern fabrics. I would make your block in aqua and lime with a navy background -- that's my current favorite color combination for pretty much anything!
ReplyDeleteChurn Dash is my favorite block (and the first block I ever made) - love your take on it! I'm more traditional in my work, but I love the modern quilts that are coming out and am thinking more and more about trying one. I think my first shot at this block will be with Fall colors.
ReplyDeleteYour block is great! Love the flying geese to give the Churn Dash block a new look. I like contemporary quilts. I would use something from Timeless Treasures in bright colors. Congratulations on your block being selected. Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI am a mostly traditional quilter. Based on your pillow example, I think I'd do the churn dash in a blue to go on my couches. The geometric design would nicely offset the floral of the couch.
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter--I love scrappy quilts and sampler quilts. Great block--love seeing how it looks in different fabrics!
ReplyDeleteYour block is beautiful! I am a traditional quilter but I love the look of modern quilts--just need to make a few of them... I like the blue or brown setting best so I'd likely go with one of them if I used your block in a quilt. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWell you deserve this honor - your block is so charming and interesting! Well Done Debbie - I want that magazine!!! I'm really looking forward to making this wonderful block! -Letty
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting to see your block and beautiful work published in this magazine! You put so much into everything that you do and it is wonderful to see it in print so many others will also be able enjoy and admire your work!
ReplyDeleteI love paper piecing. Your block is fabulous. I love all colors and fabrics.
ReplyDeleteJust ordered my magazine!!
ReplyDeletelove your block
ReplyDeleteI am very much a contemporary quilter, I love bright colors and lots of white.
ReplyDeleteI really love the way you changed up my favorite, the Churn Dash!! I have always loved that block! I have some Scrumptious fabric that would look great worked up with your blocks!!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog by e-mail. by the way!
ReplyDeletecongrats, your quilt and block are wonderful. They are motion blocks. I love those. I tend to be a more traditional quilter. Thanks for a chance. quilting dash lady at comcast dot net
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter, but love the spin you put on the churndash block. I love the blue sample you posted and being I am partial to blues, I would make the block in indigo and cream/tan colors. I also could see it done in scrappy "made" fabric and muslin. Great idea for a charity quilt.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Deb, how exciting for you! I absolutely love your block, and it truly deserves recognition. I can't wait to make this block in Civil War prints.
ReplyDeleteI used to consider myself a traditional quilter, but I'll try anything and enjoy so many of the new contemporary fabrics, they've become a staple in my stash. Oh, and I follow you on Bloglovin, and you know how to reach me :) Thanks for the giveaway!
What a clever block I just started following you on blog lovin. Traditional quilts with a twist are fantastic
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a block!
ReplyDeleteI really like this block. I know I will make it! I am a tradtitional quilter but like a 'twist' now and then...like your design of this block. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteChurndash is one of favorite blocks. Love it. I'll be making this one for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh forgot to say I'm more of a traditional quilter. And I'm following you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteawesome block, love the churn dash variation, I am into traditional quilts.
ReplyDeleteyou know it keeps changing ...it depnds on the fabric and the person I am making the quilt for.
ReplyDeletelove this block. just getting into quilting so will love to follow you.
ReplyDeleteI am traditional. I look at some of the "modern" patterns and they are just to cluttered to be enjoyed..in my opinion! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a traditionalist. I love the look of an old quilt, or one that is made to look old. I'd probably use blues and nuetrals for my block, like Piecemakers or Indigo Nature. Thanks so much for the chance.
ReplyDeleteDebi Horne

I'm between Modern and New Traditional! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun block--congrats on your first one!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower via email and I love scrappy traditional quilts!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pillow cover! I'm following via FeedSpot (giddy99)!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely one of those contemporary quilters.
ReplyDeletethanks!
very clever and fun block. Looks like one I'd like to make. Thanks for designing it and for chance to win the mag!
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter and would try your block in shades of lavender. I follow you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleterozz01@cox.net
Great combining of two quilt block patterns into Dashing Geese. Congrats on getting your first block published.
ReplyDeleteI am at heart a contemporary modern quilter who loves bold colors, patterns and prints, think Kaffe Fassett or Amy Butler. I would probably use one of Amy Butler's fabrics to make this block.
I love the update on the churn dash block. Your block is great!
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilt block lover. I would probably use civil war reproductions as that is what I have the most of in my stash. I follow you by email.
ReplyDeleteI lean towards traditional blocks and think I'm a scrappy quilter from looking back on many of my projects. Your block looks great and is very creative. I love both flying geese and the churn dash.
ReplyDeleteI'm following you by email.
ReplyDeleteTraditional quilter here, try a scrappy version of your block.
ReplyDelete24Tangent@gmail.com
Traditional quilter certainly, sewing more scrappy-looking quilts actually. I like very much this block and I'd make it in "rich colors", Kaffe Fassett I think.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you by your blog and flickr.
No doubt about the answer to this question, I'm traditional.
ReplyDeleteTraditional. Great Block!
ReplyDeleteI'd say I am more modern - with a traditional foundation... I make what i like and what i think the recipient may like, so it all depends.
ReplyDeleteAs a fairly new quilter, I am quilting using traditional patterns, but I love the modern quilts and hope one day to make one. Love your block!!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a traditional quilter. Churn Dash is my favourite block, and I love the way you have added the flying geese.
ReplyDeleteI would say I am more traditional but I do like the traditional blocks done in a modern style .i am now a follower :-)
ReplyDeleteI like more traditional quilts. I like how the flying geese added to the churn dash pattern for your block.
ReplyDeleteI am more a traditional block quilter and I'm really into scrappy quilts right now.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter with twists. I really LOVE your block for this very reason! Thank you for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm a very traditional quilter - though, I'm trying to go modern. Have started to incorporate more solids into my patchwork. Still, love the traditional quilts.
ReplyDeleteI like to do both, traditional for my home but contemporary for art pieces and gifts for others.
ReplyDeleteI really love the cheddar that you used, that would be nice for a summer quilt.
Debbie
I tend to use traditional designs, but sometimes with modern fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a modern quilter but no wonky. I love your block and I have a stack of Riley Blake Pieces of Hope that I think would work great for this block!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice combo - I would probably try it in bright solids against a white or gray background.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Bloglovin! Thanks for the opportunity - that pillow is really cute. notwendy gmail
What a fun combination. I love the Churn Dash and throwing in Flying Geese is just too much fun!
ReplyDeleteChurn Dash is the first quilt block I ever made--& it is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteFairly new...would say traditional with modern twist. I like the traditional blocks but in bolder colors and patterns. One day an art quilt?
ReplyDeleteI follow you with Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteI love your special twist on the Churn Dash.
Traditional quilter with just a touch of modern trying to come out. My favorite colour is green so anything green goes doesn't matter who the designer as long as it's green I love it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I am???...giggle. I like your first block the best maybe that says.
ReplyDeleteI would have to call myself a traditional quilter although I do like to wander off to some modern patterns from time to time...... :)
ReplyDeleteBarb

I think of myself as a Traditional quilter with a modern outlook. I enjoy making traditional blocks with modern fabrics and lots of crisp white. I love fabrics from Kate Spain, especially Good Fortune and Honey, Honey.
ReplyDeleteNew follower on Blogger
ReplyDeleteI am a new Bloglovin follower!
ReplyDeleteI consider myself an all inclusive quilter. I love traditional quilts, but I also like using bright modern fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway. I'm a new follower via email. Congratulations on having your block included in the magazine. I love the flying geese incorporated in the churn dash block.
ReplyDeleteI am a new quilter and I think of myself as traditional. I like to use a variety of fabrics. Some of my favorite designers are Kansas Troubles, Primitive Gatherings, Sweetwater, Bonnie and Camille, and Denyse Schmidts.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was using solids for the geese in 4 different basic colors with a novelty print in the large triangles with those same colors-hmm now to find those in my stash!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your blog. I love novelty fabrics but i belongs to scrappy quilters. I mostly use these nice modern fabric for borders and back side.
ReplyDeleteI loe your block. I am mostly a traditional quilter but every now and then I like to move outside my comfort zone and try something a little more modern. I don't really have a favorite line of fabric or designer - whatever suites my need and mood is what I use.
ReplyDeleteSo clever, Debbie! Beautiful block, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteVery nice block. Congrats and thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI've been quilting so long that the lines are blurred for me between traditional and contemporary, so I'm going to say eclectic. What a great idea for making a block your own. I would probably make dashing geese in low volume neutrals.
ReplyDeleteI like both modern and traditional quilts. Your block would look great in black and white.
ReplyDeleteGreat block - incorporating my two favourite blocks!
ReplyDeleteI like modern quilts - I'd love to see you block made in a Denyse Schmidt line , maybe Chicopee!
I'm more of a traditional with a twist person, which is exactly what your block is. 2 traditional blocks twisted together!
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter Would love to see this in fig trees mirabelle

ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter that likes to use brights. Thanks for doing this giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter. I love your block and would like to make the wall hanging in a primitive/country colorway.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy all kinds....traditional, modern, art. I'd make this block using batiks
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower by email! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being chosen for the magazine. Your dashing geese block is very cute! I consider myself a traditional quilter. I've joined a modern quilt guild because it sounds like fun, but I'm struggling with the understanding the concept. I just signed up to follow you on email. Thanks for sharing. cknapp3626@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteYour block is beautiful. I am more of a traditional quilter but have been admiring the modern quilts more and more.
ReplyDeleteI now follow you through google friends.
ReplyDeleteI usually do traditional piecing but may do modern colors. Right now I am working on a nine patch star made of lime greens with blacks & grays. Not sure when it will be done but it is fun!
ReplyDeleteI find myself wandering back and forth over the traditional/contemporary line. Sometimes mixing the two... I'm not a huge follower of "fabric lines" (I get into too much trouble that way). Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove your block and your pillow!
ReplyDeleteI think your block is gorgeous! I would love to make it in red, black and white.
ReplyDeleteHi, I really like your block with the paper piecing inside...I love paper piecing and will certainly try your block. I usually just follow the blog by checking in using a bookmark in my toolbar to see what is happening in your world. Thanks for letting me peek in!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no doubt, traditional all of the way.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually a traditional quilter, but for this block I might choose dark gray and white, a more contemporary look. It would echo the colors of our local Canadian geese.
ReplyDeleteBasically I'm a fairly traditional quilter but I'm slowly try to add a modern touch to my projects too. I love Christmas and would make Dashing Geese in Christmas colours. I love the name you chose for your block!
ReplyDeletelin.web.28 at gmail.com
I like both traditional and modern. I would make your Dashing Geese in red white and blue.
ReplyDeleteDashing Geese is quite the block for your first one. I would like to make this block in the colors of brown and beige for my couch. I am probably a traditional quilter. Also I tend to use my own ideas and usually quilt this way, also. I am now a new follower of your by way of emails. Looks like I will be back again and again to visit you. Thank you for the chance to win.

Love the block. Congrats on being chosen to have a block in the magazine. I am more of a traditional quilter.
ReplyDeleteLove your block. I am more traditional but I am a scrappy girl. There are so many lovely lines out to just choose one- Maybe something more contemporary with Kaffe Fasset shot cottons.
ReplyDeleteI lean to the traditional side, but I'm not stuck there :) I have a small stash of feedsack prints that would make some lovely Dashing Geese blocks! Maybe even enough for a picnic quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter. Nice block! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a modern quilter but I do love traditional blocks. I think I would choose Lizzy House Pearl Bracelets for your block.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post.. Love the block.. I follow you on bloglovin.

ReplyDeleteOh what a nice block I am a tradionsl wuilters with love for tradional blocks
ReplyDeleteWell, (shhh... it's a secret) I'm not really into fabric "lines." I like fall colors and I mix lines up all the time. I like more traditional fabrics (no novelties please) made into modern quilts. I do LOVE your block! so fun!! Congratulations on getting into the publication. Thank you for sponsoring the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI was always a traditional quilter, but have taken a turn to include modern quilting. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour block is wonderful. I have been more of a traditional quilter but have seen several modern quilts that I really like. I don't use one particular fabric line, and I use all colors.I really like scrappy quilts. I also have made some specialty quilts for grandchildren. Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block,I like both traditional and modern. I would make your Dashing Geese right now in aqua and red!
ReplyDeleteI'm drawn to modern quilts, but also like traditionals with a twist.
ReplyDeleteI am with Elizabeth above. I like traditional blocks with a twist. I really like your sampler quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like traditional piecing but use like to use jewel tone colors. I think I'd try to batiks for this block.
ReplyDeleteI love the twist you gave a traditional block. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteGreat block. Sometimes I like contemporary and sometimes I like traditional - depends on my mood! Thanks so much for the chance to win. :) Debby E
ReplyDeletesamtaylorcjsmimi at yahoo dot com
I don't know the difference between cutting the pieces and putting it together piece by piece and paper piecing. I do like your block.
ReplyDeleteI like traditional, and I choose batiks for everything, i think the churn dash would look great with batiks, thanks for the give away
ReplyDeleteI am a fairly new quilter, learning the traditional piecing and other techniques and drooling over the modern quilt looks. I am also a new follower on Bloglovin. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
ReplyDeleteI like both, though I'm newer to modern quilts as I love tradition and reproduction quilts (and samplers). For the block, I'd be tempted to do the background in Tula Pink's Acacia (can you picture that raccoon peeking through the center of the block?) with the churn dash in a complementary very light solid so it would really pop.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a traditional quilter, but do like both types. Great block. Love the combo of flying geese and the churn dash.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter. I love French General fabric, so I would love to see this block in that fabric line.
ReplyDeleteGo modern....or at least for me! I Follow you on google/blogger.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter and I like the Churn Dash block so I really love your block...I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteI do a lot of scrappy quilts so I might try doing it with a scrappy look.
Thank you for the chance to win
thim3@hotmail.com
I am primarily a traditional quilter - but I love, love, love the wonky blocks (I will have to try out your 4 patch wonky - great tutorial). So I guess that I am both a traditional and a modern quilter, it just depends on what my mood is. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I am, I like them both. If I like the design, it doesn't matter what type it is. I love your block. I have a stack of Esprit de Noel that would look good, or brights with a black background maybe?
ReplyDeleteI love your block and would love to make it out of the new line by Kansas Trouble Quilters - I am more of a traditional quilter! I am a new follower too on GFC!
ReplyDeleteThat is a REALLY cool block. congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOh so much fun! I do live traditional blocks with fun little twists like yours!

reillyr2(at)hotmail(dot)com
two of my favorite traditional blocks together, cool idea! I consider myself a tradtional quilter I am stepping out of my box lately to make some modern quilts.
ReplyDeleteI am now following you with GFC
ReplyDeleteI am a combination of traditional and modern--maybe that makes me a modern traditionalist. I really like the solid color block and would probably make them in black and white.
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter, but I have seen some modern quilts that I really like. I like the clean lines and the open spaces in the modern quilts that I've seen lately. So, that's another project added to my quilter's bucket list! I think I'd like to try your block in light blue and red. It wouldn't be a combination that I would normally think of, but I just saw a quilt made in that combination, and it was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a modern quilter, but I am always drawn to the traditional blocks. I often start trying to make something traditional, but by the time my colour choices get in there and value placement... It just doesn't happen
ReplyDeleteMy quilting tastes seem to change every few years. First I wanted everything cute, with novelty fabrics, then I wanted traditional, with history from reading the "Elm Creek Quilts" series. Lately, Bonnie Hunter has me completed hooked on scrap quilting! Wonder what it will be next year! I'm open to the possibilites!!
ReplyDeleteI love your block & your mini sampler! And I loved hearing about your design process. Well done, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI don't discriminate -- I like it all.
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional girl.

ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional quilter with traditional fabrics
ReplyDeleteI lean towards modern/contemporary but have full respect and appreciation for traditional styles.
ReplyDeleteI consider myself more of a traditional quilter. Recently I've been coming across Churn Dash blocks that really appeal to me (probably the more modern fabrics), and I love the twist you've given it in your block.
ReplyDeleteI really would like to win your cutie patotie, so I became your newbie follower, thank you so much for the chance ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your block! I'm definitely more of a traditional quilter. I would live this block in almost anything! Love reproduction fabrics, but this would lovely even in batiks.
ReplyDeleteI am mostly traditional, but I'm not above trying a modern quilt! How about yellow, gray and white for a palette?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I guess I'm an "everything" quilter! Whatever strikes my fancy, I act on it. And I'm always game for trying something new! Thanks for a chance at the give-away.

I'm more of a traditional quilter, although the new modern blocks to appeal to me at times. I would love to do your block with a bright, bold, large print Kaffe Fassett pattern with a solid white background. What a gorgeous pattern!
ReplyDeleteI don't have one set style, I like it all and love learning something new. How about trying batiks or 30's repros, I think just about anything would look good.
ReplyDeleteI also follow on bloglovin.
DeleteSuch a cool twist on an old favorite. Great block. I'm more of a traditional quilter, but I'm always open to new ideas. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI am all over the map--traditional, modern, careful, wonky. I think this would look great in reds, blues, grays, and creams for a Quilt of Valor.
ReplyDeleteI am now following you via Google Friend Connect.
ReplyDeleteI'd say I was a traditional quilter, but lately I've really been drawn to the modern quilts.
ReplyDeleteI would say I am reasonably traditional in my quilting, but I do use modern fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI am following on Bloglovin. I really like the possibilities of this block. Traditional catches my eye.
ReplyDeleteI like to make both traditional and modern styles in my quilting. I would probably use red and white for your design to be more traditional and to be on the modern side I would choose aqua and whte.
ReplyDeleteI make all different kinds of blocks, depends on what catches my eye. I think this would look good scrappy with whites and reds.
ReplyDeleteI'm following you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteI do mostly traditional blocks. And while I'm sure i could come up with a color combination, I'm getting too tired to think.
ReplyDeleteI am a quilter who likes modern colors in more traditional block settings. I am getting more modern in my settings as time goes by.
ReplyDeleteGreat block! I like both modern and traditional and have done both so I don't really prefer one over the other.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun blog tour and thank you for putting my name into the drawing. I like Traditional quilting.
ReplyDeleteCute pillow, I signed up for email.

I am more of a traditional quilter but I do love to learn how to construct new blocks. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHeartiest congratulations, Debbie!! It's a great, and innovative, block, and really appeals to traditional and modern quilters alike! What fun! :) Personally, I prefer the yellow and white one. I love yellow, but I also am a modern quilter, so I need there to be lots of white space. :) Great job!
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a "modern" quilter, but I have been sewing quilted items for a number of decades now! I would like to see your block in bright solids!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower of your blog with blog lovin.'
ReplyDeleteI'm both modern/traditional. I like the traditional blocks with the modern fabric. Love your block! ksmith8@emich.edu
ReplyDeletei follow on BL-karrie smith, ksmith8@emich.edu
ReplyDeleteI would make this block in pale grey and pink solids. I would only use the two colours and choose your third layout. I'm a great fan of flying geese, and need to improve my paper piecing skills. This would be a great opportunity. I am now a modern quilter, but I cut my teeth on "traditional".
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Google friend connect.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I do both traditional and modern. I love Moda fabrics so would probably use those to construct this block.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy both Traditional and modern.
ReplyDeleteI guess I am a blend of traditional and modern. This block could go any direction, but I think it would be perfect with some modern textures or even some of the new metallics.
ReplyDeleteOh! this is my favorite. I'm making this.
ReplyDeleteI guess I am a more modern quilter. I like quilts that look like real pictures, mostly applique. I was going to state I would use your block with an orange and white but I scrolled down and you already did that. Love that pillow.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI think I am a traditional quilter leaning towards modern.
I am a BRIGHT & CHEERY colors quilter! The pattern can be traditional or modern so I'd have to make your Dashing Geese from a variety of polka dot fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI am a traditional quilter that leans towards scrap quilts. This is my first visit to your blog and I'm looking forward to looking back at your work.
ReplyDeleteI follow of bloglovin. Loved the block
ReplyDeleteA great pattern for any size quilt. I love it.
ReplyDeleteTraditional - I'd use blue and white.
ReplyDelete
